It’s New Music Friday once again! Cheers to the weekend! In the biggest news of the week from us, we now have merch! Support the blog by purchasing a shirt, hoodie, sticker, or something else here.

This week we have new music from Maluma, Sebastian Yatra, Christina Aguilera, Ozuna, Luis Fonsi, Manuel Turizo, and many more!

For last week’s post, click here.

Without further ado, let’s get after it.

Cositas de la USA – Maluma

Maluma is back with his first new single in months. This is a pretty straightforward reggaeton track that won’t break a lot of new ground but also won’t make you turn it off. It’s a safe track but still good enough to warrant a listen.

Melancólicos Anónimos – Sebastian Yatra

We’re only a week out from Yatra’s next album. The last single in the run up to the release is one of the strongest singles he’s released so far. I really like this song a lot. It’s a great blend of urban beats with Yatra’s singer/songwriter flair. It’s the best of all of his abilities. Great song.

Santo – Christina Aguilera, Ozuna

This isn’t Ozuna’s worst performance lately but he certainly isn’t all the way back. I know Ozuna is only the feature but Aguilera really carries this track. Overall, pretty solid performance from Aguilera but nothing special from Ozuna.

Vacaiones – Luis Fonsi, Manuel Turizo

This has all of the summer vibes you need when it’s like 10 degrees outside. Fonsi will never hit the level he did when he released Despacito 5 years ago but this song is about as close as we’ll get. This song makes me want to go outside and have a summer ale on my balcony. Good stuff.

Niña de Mis Sueños – Ryan Castro, Blessd

Blessd made the finalists for best new artist of 2021. This song isn’t really starting the year off right for him. It’s fine enough I guess but this song feels amateurish and weak. I’m not a fan.

Respirar – Jesse & Joy

Ballads are always one of the big things that we miss on our New Music Friday posts. Thankfully we have this one. I like the retro sounding drums here. They add a fresh layer to the song without making it feel inauthentic or like a nostalgic grab. Very good track here.

Pinta – Bizarrap, L-Gante, Pablo Lescano

Bizarrap is the king of making old sounds completely new. This is a very unique sound and L-Gante’s performance immediately puts him on my map for best new artist of 2022. Give it a listen.

La Original – Fuego, Micro TDH

This is not at all what I was expecting. This is super mellow track that doesn’t really do much. I can deal with my expectations not being met, that’s usually not a bad thing. This was just weird and I am not a fan.

Antojo – Juhn, De La Ghetto

There’s something very mid-2010s about Juhn’s style that I just love. For whatever reason, his flow reminds me of that era of reggaeton. That being said, this is a very good song. It feels pretty timeless and straight forward. A fastball right down the middle if there ever was one.

Dame Una Noche (Remix) – Nacho, Manny Cruz, Daniel Santacruz

We had a ballad and plenty of urban music, now let’s add in some merengue. This is a fun song that I think anyone can enjoy and dance to. Most merengue songs sound about the same to me and fall in the same range of enjoyment. Kind of like Dave Portnoy and Neapolitan pizza.

La Recaida – Gloria Trevi, Timo Nuñez

There were song strong 90s Latin Boom vibes in this song. I enjoyed it. It didn’t blow my hair back but it’s a pretty good addition to any of your playlists.

Cartas Sobre La Mesa – Gilberto Santa Rosa

What better way to start your weekend than with a new salsa track for your playlist. This is deserving of a spot in anyone’s salsa playlists. I’m ready to dance now.
