Ladies and Gentlemen, we’ve done it. We’ve made it to another New Music Friday. This week is a big one.

We have new music from Nicky Jam, Ricky Martin, J Balvin, Conscuella, Anitta, Eladio Carrion, and so many more. We also have a new album from Sebastian Yatra (review here when ready).

For last week’s post click here.

Without further ado, let’s get after it.

Ojos Rojos – Nicky Jam

Give credit where credit is due, this is better than most of, if not all of Nicky Jam’s album from last year. This is the kind of step in the right direction that we need from Jam. Great stuff is on the horizon I hope.

Otra Noche En L.A – Ricky Martin

Ricky Martin is back and he is moving. This is his first single in a long time from what I can remember. It’s a very good return for one of my favorite artists of all time. I’m happy to see him back making music.

Mi Romo (Remix) – DJ Adoni, Farruko, El Experimento

Okay this is kind of miss on my part because this came out last year. BUT the video came out today so that still counts, right? Well anyway, I love this guaracha trend so I love this song too.

Better Days – NEIKED, Mae Muller, J Balvin, Polo G

This was one of the more surprising releases of the New Music Friday. I love the vibe of this track. Balvin gives a really good verse on this that makes me excited for everything else that he will be producing over the course of the year.

Boys Don’t Cry – Anitta

So when is Anitta going to be considered on the same level as any American pop star? Because I think she’s already there. She really has the potential to hit true international super stardom.

Chambean – Conscuella, Tego Calderon

When was the last time we heard from Tego Calderon? It’s been forever right? Well, Calderon and Conscuella give us this new single and I have to admit, it’s not bad. I like the trap angle that the two take. This isn’t going to be a greatest hit for either artist but it’s a good return to music.

Quien TV (Remix) – Blessd, Ryan Castro

Blessed is on the right path without a doubt. This is a great remix that gives new life to one of the better songs off of Blessd’s album. Good stuff for New Music Friday.

Otro – Khea, FMK

Khea is another young artist that we’re keeping an eye on. He’s only 21 and putting out a lot of sneaky hits. This is a pretty solid track that I really can get down with. Good stuff here from the Argentinian artist.

Pacto – Maikel Delacalle, L-Gante, DT.Bilardo

This song has big 2007 reggaeton vibes. L-Gante is definitely on our radar for best new artist of the year with this track. This is the kind of song I could see Daddy Yankee making 15 years ago and I mean that in the highest regard.

Melodrama – Alex Rose

Alex Rose has put out some sneaky good songs over the years. This is another one to add to the list. I really like this track but I can’t really place my finger on why. I keep getting Alex Rose mixed up with Alex Sensation for whatever that’s worth.

Nikes, Diamantes, & Skinnies – Jon Z, Eladio Carrion

Eladio Carrion keeps the train moving after his monster 2021. This a great start to the year for him. Jon Z might finally be moving into the upper echelon of trap music with songs like this one. He certainly has unique enough of a look to be a mainstream legend.

X2 (Remix) – Jossef, Mariah Angeliq

I never listened to the original version of X2 but all I need to know here is that Mariah Angeliq really takes the cake. She’s a beast on this track. The song itself is alright enough but Angeliq is the star.

TBT (Remix) – Lenny Tavarez, Brytiago, Micro TBH, Feid

This is the kind of remix that gives your track a new life. I remember liking this song a lot when I heard the original. The remix is even better. Including Feid and Micro TDH is a big move. This is also a good step forward for Micro TBH who hasn’t put out a lot of variety.

Habalme Bajito – Fonseca,

I almost missed this song but I’m glad I didn’t. This is a pretty good song that really hits a great, mid-tempo Latin vibe to it that I really love. Good stuff from the Colombian legend.

Maki – Lalo Ebbrat

Lalo Ebbrat has put out a lot of good songs over the course of his career. This isn’t necessarily up there with his greatest hits but it’s actually not as bad as I thought it was about to be after hearing the first few seconds. Even though I don’t love it, the chorus reminds me of “Mas Que Nada“, which I love.
