Without further ado, let’s get after it.
No Se Olvida – Wisin & Yandel
I’m a big fan of this song here. I love seeing these two back together putting out great songs. I guarantee you’re going to hear this a lot as the weather heats up this summer.
Caprichoso – Rauw Alejandro
This isn’t Todo de Ti or anything like that. It’s a fine track from the reigning Artist of the Year. I’m looking forward to the new album. Honestly, I hope there are stronger tracks than this on it.
MAMIII – Becky G, Karol G
I really like this track. Becky G really takes the lead here. This song is destined to be a massive hit this summer, you can already tell. These girls are at the top of reggaeton and for good reason.
Ley de Gravedad – Luis Fonsi, Cali y El Dandee
This song feels like a summer afternoon. It’s like sitting out in the summer heat, a cool breeze blowing and having your (non-douchebag) friend breakout the guitar. Have I ever experienced that? No. But this is what I imagine that moment feeling like.
Mirame (Bilmem mi? Remix) – Sefo, Reik, Dimelo Flow
Am I wrong for having low expectations for this song? Well regardless, I was a surprisingly big fan of this. Reik always puts out good songs so I shouldn’t be that surprised, but still. Very good stuff.
Despues De Las 12 – Ovi, Kim Loaiza
Ovi might be another artist to add to our tracker for best new artist of 2022. This is a big notch in his belt for the young year. I like this song for sure. Good stuff.
Vamos Que Nos Vamos – Abraham Mateo, L-Gante, Omar Montes
This track had a lot of potential. Abraham Mateo has put out some surprisingly good stuff over the years. He’s easily the best part of this song. The rest of the track is a mess though. There’s a weird warping that goes on throughout the track. It almost feels like there’s a weird Middle Eastern influence in here that really distracts from the solid core of the song. Not good.
Historia Sin Fin – J Alvarez
This is immediately not what you would expect from Alvarez. This is like a new age, smooth jazz, track with Alvarez rapping over it. I don’t necessarily hate it but this doesn’t feel like what should be expected from Alvarez. I really don’t know what I feel about this.
Tal Vez – vf7
Well, I guess I’m also adding vf7 to my list of artists to watch for 2022. Give this girl a session with Bizarrap and watch it explode.
Wanna Stop – Victor Cardenas
Well if you’re here for your New Music Friday dose of house EDM, look no further. I don’t love this song enough to add it to my playlist BUT I do think there’s a lot of really good stuff here. Cardenas is going to be a monster for years to come.
F-U – Leli Hernandez, Play N Skillz
So let’s be real, the only reason I listened to this track is because of the party tracks that Play N Skillz have put out. I was not expecting this mid-tempo R&B track. It’s not bad by any means, but it’s not really the kind of track to get down to. It’s a break up song that sounds like it’ll show up in Season 3 of Euphoria.
Si Tu Vas y Yo Vengo – Menend, Don Patricio
This is another solid entry in the Latin R&B space. I like it enough to add it to my rotation. Is it going to be super memorable? No, probably not. Is it still some good stuff to hangout to? Easily.
Tenemos que Hablar – Paopao, iZaak
iZaak gives me some big time Danny Ocean vibes here. I’ve never heard of Paopao but she does a good job here too. Keep feeding me tracks like this and I will be a happy man.
