New Music Friday 5/13 – Happy Friday the 13th!

Happy Friday the 13th! Summer is basically here and so are some good new tracks. This New Music Friday is filled with a lot of new releases.

This week we have new music from Feid, Lunay, Wisin & Yandel, Alex Rose, Abraham Mateo, and more. We also have new albums from Becky G and Carlos Vives.

Castigo – Feid

This is a pretty standard track from Feid. It’s nothing groundbreaking or particularly unique. It’s good but nothing too special if we’re being honest.

El Teke Teke – Carlos Vives, Black Eyed Peas, Play-N-Skillz

Right off the bat, what a combination this song is. This combo is what I imagine would happen if you took a bunch of names in a hat and pulled three out. That being said, this surprisingly works. It’s not going to be the song of the summer or anything like that but it’s not bad by any means. I’m pleasantly surprised with this.

Bandida – Lunay

Lunay usually comes with the heat. This is a pretty solid outing for the Puerto Rican artist. I like this song. Worth the listen.

Sentido – Wisin & Yandel, Alex Rose

Alex Rose is a very underrrated artist. People forget but this guy has a lot of hits. Add this one to the list. This is some good stuff right here. Add it to your summer playlists and get the party going.

Kong 2.0 – Steve Aoki, Natanael Cano

Now this is an ambitious crossover. Aoki has had a lot of success with Latin artists before. Does it translate here? Yes. I was very skeptical but this really connected. Very good stuff that I almost guarantee will be popular even in the US.

Quiero Decirte – Abraham Mateo, Ana Mena

Wow. We have my favorite song of this New Music Friday. This is fantastic. This immediately made it’s way onto all of my playlists. Absolutely great stuff. Let’s go.

Chandal – Morad

My only reaction – “eh, alright”.

Eres – Santa Fe Klan

This is much more of a ballad from the Mexican rapper. It’s alright but not really my cup of tea but any means. Not really worth the listen.

Puro Sentimenito – Paula Arenas, Manuel Medrano

This is a good song to chill out to and just vibe to. It feels like an 80s pop ballad that you would hear from Kenny Rogers or someone like that. It’s very mellow but still very enjoyable. Good stuff.
