Nicky Jam’s latest album is here. This is the 3rd album in the 2nd stage of the career of Nicky Jam and his 8th album overall. It may also be one of his worst albums.

This is Jam’s first album since 2019’s Intimo. Nicky Jam was one of the few artists not to release an album last year in what was a packed year of music. This album is probably better served by not coming out last year. What this version of Nicky Jam isn’t is the version we saw just a few years ago with chart shattering hits like “El Perdon”, “Travesuras”, or “X”. This is a much more demure Nicky Jam. There certainly aren’t many party tracks on this album.

The 15 track album came with support from 4 singles, the latest being “Miami”. “Miami” is one of the best songs on the album for sure. “Fan de Tus Fotos” with Romeo Santos is another great single. Other standout tracks (non-singles) include, “Te Invito” and “DM”. Unfortunately there isn’t too much more positive to say beyond that.

We pride ourselves on honesty here so we have to be real. Most of these songs are forgettable at best. The worst songs on the album are “Dandote”, “Una Guayaa”, “Melancolia”, and “Magnum”. Everything just sounds the same and not in a good way. Of the 15 tracks, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to say that 10 are forgettable. That’s not the kind of batting average you want in this industry.

I don’t know where the edge went. The same attitude that made his Bizarrap session so good is completely missing here. This isn’t the same Nicky Jam who lit up the airwaves for the last few years.

Final Thoughts

Infinity is a pretty major disappointment from one of the greatest artists in the history of reggaeton. This album is chock full of forgettable tracks and almost amateurish songs. To quote Jeremy Jahns, one of my favorite YouTubers, I’m not going to remember this album in t-minus 2 days.
