Friday is here once again. This week we have a lot of interesting new stuff to bring you. That’s what New Music Friday is all about.

This week we have new music from Rauw Alejandro, Christina Aguilera, Sebastian Yatra, Ozuna, Becky G, DJ Snake, and many more.

For last week’s post, click here.

Without further ado, let’s get after it.

Problemon – Alvaro Diaz, Rauw Alejandro

This is one of the more tame, right up the middle reggaeton songs that you’ll get it. It’s more or less what you would get if you googled generic 2021 reggaeton track. It’s fine but nothing special.

Tacones Rojos – Sebastian Yatra

Yatra usually puts out some solid tunes. This is one of the best ones in a long time. I’m a huge fan of this song. It’s a fun, pop song that will get you moving. Awesome track and one of the best of the week.

Pa Mis Muchachas – Christina Aguilera, Becky G, Nicki Nicole, Nathy Peluso

Well I guess Christina Aguilera is back. She’s the latest in a long line of artists to release a Spanish-language comeback song. To her credit, she hasn’t missed a bit, has released music in Spanish before, and this song is awesome. I’m pretty impressed to be honest. Great stuff.

SG – DJ Snake, Ozuna, Meg Thee Stallion, Lisa

Is this the new “Taki Taki”? Eh, probably not. Does that mean it’s bad by any means? No. It’s surprisingly decent and listenable.

Una Vaina Loca – Fuego, Manuel Turizo, Duki

What’s old is new again. The original verison of “Una Vaina Loca” is a classic. I will say, I do appreciate Turizo and Duki reviving this track. That being said, it’s hard to live up to the original. Where this one fails, in my mind, is that it doesn’t have that same fun merengue beat that the original has. The original lets the beat go and everyone can get dancing. This never really releases the brakes and let you dance like that. Shame.

Cosas De La Vida – Paloma Mami

This is a good mid-tempo song to slow things down to. It really helps to show a different side from the Chilean-American artist. New sides of singers is what New Music Friday is all about.

Puñales – Llane, Boza

I feel like if this song had been released in May it would have been a perfect beach song for the summer. It’s a nice, island-feeling song that would be perfect as the season starts to heat up. Given that it was barely 60 degrees by me today, this doesn’t hit as well as it otherwise could have.

De La Ilusion Al Miedo – Ricardo Arjona

Well, well, well. If it isn’t this week’s Throwback Thursday artist. His new track is about as close as we can get to ballads released these days. It’s a very emotioally powerful charged track. It’s a good addition to any slower, or sadder, playlist.

De Frente – Andry Kiddos, Piso 21

There’s a good synth-vibe to this track. I don’t know anything about Andry Kiddos but hey, if this is their vibe then they have a bright future ahead of them.

Complicado – Malu Trevejo, Luar La L

I didn’t realize Malu Trevejo was still releasing music. Her debut single was pretty good. This isn’t too bad of a track either. It isn’t anything that will put her over the top and make people respect her as an artist but it’s some decent stuff.

We’ll see you next week for the next edition of New Music Friday.
