Yandel and Tainy have teamed up for their latest project, titled Dynasty. The producer/artist combo have been working together for 16 years now. This project is here to celebrate that. Without further ado, let’s review this bad boy and see if it lives up to the talent we know they both have.

El Lider Yandel & Tainy the Producer

Right off the bat, this album is pure reggaeton. It’s fastball after fastball. There is not a lot of experimentation here. It sticks to what works. That being said, almost every track works.

Among my favorites on the album is the lead single “Deja Vu”. It’s a great song that will have legs to carry the album to the mainstream. The other songs that I really enjoyed were “El Plan”, “Hablame Claro”, and “Va y Ven”. If I had to choose an overall favorite, it would probably have to be “El Plan”.

There are only two features on the album. One from Rauw Alejandro and one from SAINt JHN. I would have to say I prefer “Si Te Vas”, the track with SAINt JHN slightly more than Rauw’s track. Both features add a flair to the album.

The synergy between Tainy and Yandel is incredibly apparent throughout the entire album. It’s like watching Phil Jackson coach Michael Jordan. These two obviously know each other well and that really helps to elevate the entire project.

Final Thoughts

Dynasty is one of those albums that I want to put on while I’m driving home late at night. The album definitely feels like the product of two very talented people who have worked together for 16 years. It isn’t a very long album, which is a shame since I didn’t want it to end. While Yandel isn’t at his height, this is still a very very strong performance from the Puerto Rican legend. Pop this on and you won’t be disappointed.

7.8/10

I should also add that I’m glad that Yandel has this solo project as a companion to Wisin’s Los Legendarios 001 which came out earlier this year.
