Happy New Music Friday. We made it through another week so our reward is a ton of new music. There aren’t a lot of AAA releases this week, aside from Tainy and Bad Bunny. Instead we have a ton of B-list and C-list artists putting out tracks, which I’m always down for.

This week we have new songs from Bad Bunny, Manuel Turizo, Nicki Nicole, Jay Wheeler, C. Tangana, Bizzarap, Daddy Yankee, and plenty more!

For last week’s New Music Friday post, click here.

Lo Siento BB:/ – Tainy, Bad Bunny, Venegas

Bad Bunny and Tainy are always a power combo. This track came out early this week and will be a part of Tainy’s new album. I’ve seen a lot of praise for this song on Twitter and to be honest, I don’t really get it. This is a very fine song but it’s not really a Greatest Hit for Tainy or Bad Bunny. It’s alright and worth the listen but it’s not the next “Yonaguni”.

Morena – ChocQuibTown, Lil Silvio & El Vega, La Ross Maria

A feel like it’s been a while since we got a new song from ChocQuibTown. I’m happy they’re back. This song is pretty standard fare for the Colombian group. It’s very similar to pretty much everything else you’ve heard from them over the years. That doesn’t mean it’s bad by any means, it’s just predictable.

Te Olvido – Manuel Turizo

I’m glad Turizo is releasing new music after his great album Dopamina. This song has great late night vibes. It’s the kind of mid-tempo reggaeton that you put on at like 3 in the morning when the night is winding down but everyone is still pounding that last drink. It’s a perfect way to ease into the end of the night.

Bio – Alejandro Sanz

I wasn’t expecting spoken word poetry for New Music Friday but okay, here we are. Not my thing but if it’s yours, all the power to you.

Baby – Nicki Nicole

Nicki Nicole keeps making a very strong case for best new artist of the year. This song is awesome. I love it. It’s a very fun song and one of the best new songs of the week.

Ateo – C. Tangana, Nathy Peluso

You legitimately never know what you’re going to get from C. Tangana. A bachata track is not what I was expecting for his collab with Nathy Peluso. (Gotta put my hand up here, I only really heard about her last week. My bad.) This is a very solid track that hovers toward one of the better songs of the week.

2005 – Fonseca, Greeicy, Cali y El Dandee

So what I love about this song is that it basically remixes Fonseca’s major hits from 2005. It took me a bit to recognize that but I really loved it once I figured it out. It’s insane that songs like “Arroyito” and “Te Mando Flores” came out like 16 years ago. Wild. Good callback here.

Brzp Music Sessions, Vol 45 – Ptazeta, Bizarrap

Every new Bizarrap session is a big moment these days. These are the moments people like me wait weeks and weeks for. This is a pretty solid session until the beat change in the last part of the song. That switch kicks this up a few notches. Very good stuff.

El Gran Robo Pt 2 – Lito MC Cassidy, Daddy Yankee

What I appreciate about this is Daddy Yankee going back to his roots. This is just old-school rap battle shit. This is the Daddy Yankee of 20+ years ago. This isn’t the kind of song for the clubs or anything like that but it’s a

Pepas (Remix) – Farruko, Tiesto

“Pepas” is one of the best songs of the year and one of the biggest. This remix comes at the perfect time. It refreshes the song and makes it playable for another 3 months (at least). This is easily the best remix I’ve heard so far.

Antes De Ti – Rusherking, Maria Becerra

Another surprising bachata track, this is another pretty solid song. This reminds me that I 1) need to update my bachata playlist and 2) need to refresh my bachata skills. I’m a lot more rusty than I should be at this point. Good song worth the shot.

BIOL-101 – Jay Wheeler, Jorge Milliano

I don’t hate it but it sounds like this track is recorded underwater. It’s otherwise a pretty solid track with a good beat and drop but the mixing is really throwing me off. If this was just recorded normally, I would be a lot higher on this track than I currently am.

Se Vuelve Loca – Deorro, Gente De Zona

Gente De Zona is back after what feels like forever. This is a very fun party track. Deorro has been putting out some good stuff lately, I have to admit. This is a pretty solid and fun track. I like it a lot.

Monumento – Andy Rivera, ñejo

I’ve been waiting for Andy Rivera to really pop for a while now. He hasn’t but that doesn’t mean this isn’t still a solid song. It’s a pretty decent track and good song to vibe out to.
