It’s New Music Friday once again and this week we have plenty of big songs to talk about.
This week we have new songs from Anuel, J Balvin, Jennifer Lopez, Jhay Cortez, Juan Magan, Mana, Eladio Carrion, Rauw Alejandro, and many more!
For last week’s post, click here.
Without further ado, let’s get after it.
Subelo – Anuel AA, Jhay Cortez, Myke Towers
It’s hard to get a better trio together for a track right now. These three are some of the best artists in the game right now. With these ridiculous expectations, this song doesn’t quite hit those levels but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a great track. This fits in so well with all of the other Anuel tracks that we’ve been blessed with lately. The more singles that he releases like this, the more excited I get for his new album.
Instinto – Yendry, J Balvin
I’m a fan of this track. I don’t know much about Yendry but this is some good stuff out of her. If she can keep putting out tracks like this, I’m in.
Vamo a Beber – Juan Magan
We are at the beginning of this major guaracha moment in Latin music. Songs like Farruko’s “El Incomprendido” were the trailblazers and bangers like this are just going to continue to follow. This is a very fun song that should make any party playlist, English or Spanish.
Te Pue’ Cuidar – Brray, Rauw Alejandro
I love this song because it’s so different. It’s starts out with a pretty unique beat and hook, which I love, and then it switches it up right in the middle like it’s “La Romana” or something like that. This stretches the limit of what we would even expect from either Brray or Rauw and it’s great. Big surprise of New Music Friday right here.
Alejarme de Ti – Eladio Carrion, Jay Wheeler
Eladio Carrion is dominating Latin trap and Jay Wheeler is a young force in reggaeton. So what happens when they get together? Some super enjoyable early 2000s-feeling soft rock. Talk about a misdirection. Great stuff here.
Amapolas (Remix) – Leo Rizzi, Danny Ocean
Can we talk about the absolute heater that Danny Ocean has been on lately? This guy has only put out hits in the last few weeks, especially when you don’t expect it. My expectations were at a zero here but this is a great song. Love it.
Somos Nada – Christina Aguilera
If it wasn’t for the banger that Aguilera last song was, I probably wouldn’t even give this a shot. This is a wildly different song than “Pa Mis Muchachas”. Whereas that track was a fun, women-empowerment track, this is a piano driven ballad that shows off Aguilera’s vocal range. It’s a great Sad Boy Season track.
Dime Si Con Eso Vale – DELLAFUENTE
If you want to add some R&B vibe into your playlist, this is it. This is a different track from nearly everything else in the round up this week and that’s not a bad thing at all. This the kind of song to just vibe out to. Easily worth the shot.
On My Way – Jennifer Lopez
Well I found the song that will be every girl’s Instagram caption for the next 3 months. “Every heartbreak was just a yellow brick road pointing me on my way to you” will be on every couple picture you see. Book it. Mortal lock. Easy.
A-O-K – Tai Verdes, Manuel Turizo
Manuel Turizo singing in English? Hey, I’ll take it. He has plenty of crossover ability and this is a good example of his potential. This is a fun song for the warm weather without a doubt.
Extrañandote (Remix) – vf7, Lenny Tavarez, Beele, Rauw Alejandro
You can criticize Rauw Alejandro for plenty of things but you can’t say he’s lazy. He’s putting out song after song. This is a pretty decent track that is worth a listen. It’s nothing groundbreaking but it doesn’t have to be. It’s a good filler song as you go from point A to point B.
Mariposa Traicionera – Mana, Alejandro Fernandez
I had to debate whether this counts as new music. This song has been out for like two decades at this point. It sounds nearly identical to the original recording which I guess is a testament to Mana’s staying power. Adding Alejandro Fernandez doesn’t really do much to move the needle here.
Pa La Disco – Luar La L, Rokero
The last song of the week, this is pretty forgettable to be quite honest. I just finished listening to it and I already forgot about it. Oops.
Enjoy the upcoming holidays and close out the year strong.
