New Music Friday 12/24 – Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! This week’s New Music Friday is pretty light on the new tracks but that’s okay. This is the season to hangout with your friends and families so we don’t really need to get bogged down with a ton of new music.

This week we have new songs from Rauw Alejandro, Gente De Zona, Luar La L, Nach, Ovi, and others!

Without further ado, let’s get after it.

Hunter – Rauw Alejandro

Well the Rauw/Jhay Cortez feud is really cooking now. This is one of the biggest feuds in music since Drake and Meek Mill a few years back. I have to admit, Rauw gets a few good barbs in there and really shows his edge. Can’t wait to see the response from Cortez.

Que Locura – Ovi, Gente de Zona

This may be a light week but this track makes it all worth it. What a great song. This makes me want to party and get moving. Gente De Zona is back in such a big way and I love it. Great great track.

Si La Pillo – Luar La L, The Secret Panda

This isn’t a bad song by any means. It’s a pretty solid track and a decent trap record. Luar La L has had a pretty decent year and has been a good new artist to follow. This is another feather in his cap. Good note to end the year on for him.

In Memoriam – Nach, Kany

Well this is a bit of a downer. This song is all about missing the ones we lost this year. It’s a well written and moving track. This is the kind of track perfect for a night where you just want to think about the year we’ve had and probably cry a bit.

Anoche – Gotay, Bavarotty, El Completo RD

This isn’t too bad at all. It’s a pretty danceable and enjoyable track. It reminds me a lot of mid 2000s merengue/reggae tracks that are goofy and fun for everybody. If that’s your kind of jam, then this is the track for you.

12×3 – DEKKO

The bright side of a light New Music Friday is being able to find some good new artists to listen to. This isn’t a great song by most measures by it does show that Dekko, who I’ve never heard of, has plenty of potential. He just made his way onto my radar.

Cae La Noche – Ptazeta, Juacko

Not gonna lie, this is one of my favorite songs of the week. It’s a different sound than one would expect from a reggaeton track. It’s lighter and more airy but still maintains it’s fun base. Great stuff.
