Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and New Music Friday. Let’s go.

This week we have new songs from Wisin & Yandel, Nio Garcia, Prince Royce, Jhay Cortez, Lunay, Danny Ocean, and many more! We also have new albums from Eladio Carrion and KEVVO. Reviews for those albums will be up as soon as possible.

For last week’s post, click here.

Without further ado, let’s get after it.

Recordar – Wisin & Yandel

The legends are back with their first single in a long time. This song has all the summer vibes to get you up in the winter months. It’s a little different than you might expect from a Wisin & Yandel song but it’s a natural evolution. It’s amazing to see how far they’ve come since debuting 25(ish) years ago. I’m a big fan of this song.

Bella Ciao – Becky G

A tri-lingual song this week? We have Becky G singing in Spanish, Italian, and even a little English. This song is for the Netflix series La Casa de Papel and I am very into it. I may have to watch the show because this song slaps.

Resaca – Nio Garcia, Manuel Turizo

This is a great blend of both artist’s usual sounds. Nio brings the usual reggaeton dembow while Turizo has the lighter guitar motif. The result is a very cool combination. This isn’t going to light up the charts but it’s a very good track.

Veterana – Elvis Martinez, Prince Royce

Great bachata track here. Love it. This is the kind of fun track that will get you moving on Salsa Saturdays.

Llorale a tu madre – Jesse & Joy

It’s been a hot minute since we’ve gotten a new song from Jesse & Joy. On this track they exchange their usual soft rock sensibilities for a more mainstream rock sound. Jesse has more of a chance to show off his rock skills here which is probably a welcome change for him. Overall, not bad at all.

Esta Dañada – Ivan Cornejo, Jhay Cortez, Ignacio Sotelo Arellano

I’m not entirely sure what this is but it’s very different from anything I’ve ever heard with Jhay Cortez. If I’m not mistaken, this is a corrido tumbado. I don’t really know how to judge this song so do it for yourself.

Rubia Sol Morena – Danny Ocean

Danny Ocean continues to put out some of the most unexpected and unique stuff in Latin music. Cannot say I expected a pop-punk drum driven banger out of him but here we are. These are the surprises New Music Friday is made of.

787 – Lunay

I don’t really care for this song much. Yeah, it’s fine but that’s it. It’s nothing that I’m going to put on time after time. Lunay has a very solid catalog to pull from so I’ll pull from that instead of a song that sounds like all of the rest, except lesser.

Flaca – Sael, Mau y Ricky

Sounds like a lot of the stuff we’ve heard from Mau Y Ricky. Like their usual stuff? Probably will like this. Really not much to talk about here.
