It’s Friday so you know we’re here with all of the best new music this week has to offer. This week sees new songs from Anuel AA, Ozuna, Juhn, Rauw Alejandro, Lunay, Nicki Nicole, Farruko, and many others.

The biggest release of the week is Karol G’s new album KG0516. You can read our great review here.

As for this week, we have a lot to go through so let’s get down to business.

Whoopty (Latin Mix) – CJ, Anuel, Ozuna

This bilingual bop has both Anuel and Ozuna returning to their trap roots. Listening to Anuel here felt like I traveled back in time. If you like the old Ozuna and Anuel this song is for you. It’s a heavy trap record with Los Dioses diving back into their rapping bag. CJ demonstrates plenty of his own talent on this track as well and I’m looking forward to seeing what else he can give us.

No Toque Mi Naik – Nicki Nicole, Lunay

Nicki Nicole is starting to pull together a nice little string of singles to kick start her career her. This song is great and a very good follow up to Ella No Es Tuya – Remix. Lunay, coming off the announcement that he joined La Familia records, brings the heat as always. I’m a big fan of this song and both artists.

Poderosa – Lyanno, Rauw Alejandro

How much do I like this song? It made my summer playlist before one full play. This song is great. It’s a very danceable reggaeton track from two artists who have made their fair share of reggaeton hits. This is an infectious track that will absolutely be in my rotation for the summer and many club nights to come.

Indecente – Juhn

The cover for New Music Friday Latin this week. I don’t dislike this song but I also don’t get why it’s being so heavily promoted. Juhn is a talented artist and this doesn’t even crack his top 10 songs as far as I see it. It’s a decent song but nothing special.

Como Si Nah – Justin Quiles, Arcangel, Dalex, Kevvo

Even though I’ve been beating the “Justin Quiles is criminally underrated” drum for a while now, I gotta give credit where’s it’s due. Dalex is a monster on this track. This is a great urban/reggaeton track with everyone carrying their weight. Give it a shot.

No Te Veo (Remix) – Pancho El Antifecka, Jay Wheeler, Wisin & Yandel

I’m not familiar with the original version of this song so I can’t say I have a tremendous frame of reference but I like what I hear here. Jay Wheeler is continually impressive and Wisin & Yandel are legends. Pacho isn’t bad by any means but he’s certainly not the best artist of this group. I’m a fan of the track.

Un Minuto – Sousa, Rauw Alejandro

I think the word we’re looking to use to describe Rauw Alejandro with is prolific. It takes a lot to make these New Music Friday posts twice in the same week. This is a lighter reggaeton track that’s great for chilling somewhere warm. Sousa impresses me here. I’m hoping to hear more from him soon.

Pagina – Juan Magan

Juan Magan is beginning to master that 80’s synth beat. Watch out world. This song combines Latin EDM vibes with nostalgic 80s synth. It’s impressive to see Magan putting out so much music, especially such different music, this deep into his career. I love the evolution and the song is very good as well.

No Me Basta – India Martinez, Dvicio

Dvicio has really cornered the market on Spanish soft rock/indie rock. This song is definitely one of the best they’ve released in a while. It’s a great duo with India Martinez, who is quietly pulling some hits together. This is the kind of song you can chill to yourself and your parents will probably like too.

Un Clasico – Dasoul, Danny Romero

Where has Dasoul been lately? El No Te Da came out like 6 years ago (at least) and was a banger back in the day. I haven’t really seen much out of him in the last few years. I’m glad he’s back with a good song. Un Clasico is a very good reggaeton track with a hint of bachata mixed in. Hope he puts out more hits like the old days.

Se Va Pero Vuelve – Maikel Delacalle

Delacalle is one of the most inventive artists putting out music in 2021. He has a special skill for blending genre’s and producing a unique sound. This is no exception. He blends reggaeton with bachata in a very unique way here and it works very well. I’m a big fan of what Delacalle is putting out and I hope we get more tracks like this.
