New Music is here. It’s the 4th of July. Let’s ride.

This week we have new songs from Enrique Iglesias, J Balvin, Nicky Jam, Yandel, Eladio Carrion, Reykon, and many many more.

We also have a new mixtape from Eladio Carrion which we should have a review of soon. In the meantime, read our first review ever which was of Carrion’s Monaraca.

Without further ado, let’s fill those playlists up with the best new releases of the week.

In Da Getto – J Balvin, Skrillex

Now this is a fun track. Unsurprisingly, this is definitely the kind of song that will be played in the clubs and will get the people moving. For some reason this song reminds me of the kind of song you would hear at Six Flags or some amusement park. The video is goofy and fun and everything that this song aims to be.

Me Pase – Enrique Iglesias, Farruko

I’m very happy that Enrique is back. He hasn’t been overly accurate in the last few years but whenever he puts out a song, it’s a hit. This isn’t the best of the Enrique, it’s pretty standard stuff. Farruko is a good addition as always. He adds some Caribbean flair to this overwise standard pop-reggaeton track.

Deja Vu – Yandel, Tainy

Yandel and Tainy have been together for a long time and they continue to put out great music. This song and duo reminds me of Jacob DeGrom. Every year they just keep getting better. Even though they’ve been doing this for years, they can still reach into their bag and throw 99mph right on the black. To tie it all together, I want to see DeGrom celebrating a dynasty like these two sometime soon. LFGM.

Nicky Jam Bzrp Music Session Vol 41

Bzrp’s freestyle sessions are quickly become much listen to songs. Nicky Jam brings the HEAT. This is a banger. Hard to say more than that. Great song, one of the best of the week.

La Suite (Remix) – Reykon, J Alvarez, Jamby El Favo, Kevin Roldan

I loved the original version of this track. I thought it was an addicting trip. The remix strays a little far from the things that I loved in the original, mainly the chorus, but the additions aren’t bad by any means.

Frontiar – Nesi, Nio Garcia, DJ Luian, Mambo Kingz

Now this is just some old school reggaeton with a new coat of paint. I like the classic sound of the track for sure. I don’t know much about Nesi but I like her on this track. She adds a strong, defined female presence in a space where women haven’t always taken the lead. Good song.

Triste – Pacho El Antifeka, Nicky Jam

Well this is interesting. Nicky Jam simultaneously has one of the best releases of the week and one of the worst. This song just does absolutely nothing for me.

La Niña de la Escuela – Lola Indigo, TINI, Belinda

I don’t know what it is about this song but it gives me early 2000s pop vibes. It’s a pretty solid and undoubtedly enjoyable. Definitely worth the listen and tossing on your playlist.

Sexy – Eich, Khea, Duki, Marlku

This feels like a showcase for all these new artists and that’s a good things. All four artists do their job well here. They come out, put up some good bars, and then just go back to their spot. It’s a very good song and great to see the potential in each of these four artists.

Mañana – Alvaro Soler, Cali Y Dandee

Ever notice Alvaro Soler looks just like the guy who plays Mauricio Ambrossi in Luis Miguel The Series? The resemblance is uncanny. Anyways, great song. I’m happy Soler is back and putting out music again. Like I’ve said about his past songs, they all follow the same formula but that formula works so why change it?

Se Apago – Camin, Rels B

So I know Rels B isn’t a huge draw for people but I like him so I’m going to talk about this song. It’s an interesting departure for him because this is decidedly reggaeton. Rels B is usually someone who stays much more solidly in the R&B space. Interesting to see him change things up. I like it but not as much as his previous work.
