Way back in January, the first album we ever reviewed was Monarca by Eladio Carrion. What’s very clear is that no one can criticize Eladio’s work ethic. The amount of music he’s released this year is nothing short of ridiculous.

His latest album Sauce Boyz 2 is the sequel to last year’s Sauce Boyz. Clocking in at 22 songs, this album is mostly focused on Eladio’s trap skills. There are a few songs right outside of his usual wheelhouse, including the rock inspired “Alejarme de Ti”, the EDM inspired “Gastar”, and some reggaeton tracks. Despite this being his third album of the year, there’s no drop off in quality.

There are plenty of great songs on this project. Of the songs I love on this album are “Gastar”, “Sin Frenos”, and “No Me Importa Un Carajo” among many others. These represent a good intersection of the diverse quality on the album.

The single “Alejarme de Ti” is a certified banger. It’s already on all of my playlists for the foreseeable future. I think songs like that will be huge for his ability to build his fanbase even further. “Gastar” also falls into that category for me.

There are a couple misses on the project. The English “Touch Your Body” isn’t really my cup of tea. I didn’t care for “Sauce Boy Freestyle 5” or “Mami Dijo” either. These don’t severely diminish the album but they’re definite skips in my book.

Final Thoughts

Eladio Carrion delivers a great project here. The trap heavy album delivers on nearly every front. There are mainstream hits and some deep cuts that will get in the rotation for years to come. Definitely add this into your rotation asap. The deep quality of the album, especially on the trap front, proves to me that Eladio is one of the premier artists in Latin Trap and all of Latin music.
