While the biggest release of last week was Ozuna and Anuel’s Los Dioses (read our review here), there were still a number of other tracks which are worth your time and your listen. Let’s break down some of the best new music of the week.
Girl Like You – Dimelo Flow, Sech, Tyga, J.I
Sech joins Tyga and J.I on this Dimelo Flow produced track. Tyga has made a number of appearances on Spanish language tracks in the past few years and this is another feather in his cap. This song has a lot of crossover appeal. I’m not the world’s biggest Sech fan but he’s a good ambassador for the genre here. The album art is certainly provocative enough to bring people in and the song keeps them there.
QUE PASO? – Bhavi, Khea
Mixing elements of trap with American hip hop, this song immediately catches you and doesn’t let you go until the last seconds. This is the kind of track that will get people hooked and moving. I don’t much about either artists but I do know this song will be a hit at a party. Turn the lights down and get this blasting over the speakers and a good time will be had by all.
Aprendi – Jacob Forever, De La Ghetto
I hate to admit this, but I forgot Jacob Forever was still making music. Jacob Forever, for those who don’t know, was the third member of Gente De Zona but left the group to pursue his own career. His solo career hasn’t exactly taken off but he delivers a great song this week. De La Ghetto, one of the OGs of reggaeton and trap, is a great feature on this track. This will definitely be in my rotation for the next few weeks.
Zorra (Remix) – Bad Gyal, Rauw Alejandro
Hand up, I have no idea who Bad Gyal is nor have I listened to the original version of Zorra. That being said, I do know who Rauw Alejandro is and I absolutely rock with this remix. Rauw elevates this song to a much higher level. Remixes like this get artists like Bad Gyal on a bigger stage.
Loco Por Verte – Jory Boy
Jory Boy has always been a second or third tier star in Latin music but I’ve always been a fan. We’ll have a full EP review coming soon for this release but this song is good start. Jory Boy delivers a very good reggaeton track here that will fit into any playlist.
