Julio Iglesias is by most metrics, the highest selling Latin artist of all time. He’s sold over 100 million records in 14 languages. He was also a goalkeeper for Real Madrid’s B team Real Madrid Castilla for a few years before deciding to pursue music.

While there are limitless choices that we could go with from Julio, this week we’re going with Caballo Viejo (Bamboleo). Bamboleo was originally performed by the Gypsy Kings but has since been covered by a number of artists. Julio’s version is probably my favorite.

Released in 1987, the music video features Brooke Shields, a fact I did not know until I wrote this blog. Based on the brief research I was able to do (a quick Google search), it looks like Shields and Iglesias were a bit of a thing in the mid-80s. There isn’t much more information on the situation from what I can find.

Anyways, enjoy Caballo Viejo (Bamboleo) this Thursday.
