It’s Throwback Thursday once again and this week we’re talking about Chile’s own Myriam Hernandez. If I’m not mistaken, this is our first post about a Chilean artist.
Born Myriam Raquel Hernández Navarro in Santiago, Chile, Myriam Hernandez is well known throughout the Latin music world. She began her musical career at the age of 11 appearing on a television show named “Generacion joven”. As a young child, she also appeared in a soap opera in Chile. Her musical career began to take off when she released her first true album in 1988. Over the course of her career, she has released 9 albums with the latest coming in 2011.

This week’s song is “Huele a Peligro”. This track comes off of her 1998 album “Todo El Amor”. The title translates to “Smells Like Danger”. The song is about the danger that comes from even talking to someone who you know you cannot resist, even if you’re both with someone. The song describes an undeniable connection between the two that endangers the relationships they’re already in. One wrong step and they both know they won’t be able to resist each other. This song was written by the legendary Armando Manzanero.
