On Saturday night, Barstool Sports Founder Dave Portnoy posted the following tweet with Brazilian superstar Anitta
While Anitta might be an international superstar, her profile isn’t necessarily as high in the US, especially amongst the typical Barstool readers. So, who is Anitta?
Born in Rio de Janeiro, the 27 year old Anitta is trilingual, releasing songs in English, Spanish, and her native Portuguese. Anitta’s music career began in 2012 when a record executive discovered her Youtube channel. She signed a record deal with Warner Music Group.
Anitta has blown up over the last few years. She has collabs with artists like J Balvin, Cardi B, Sofia Reyes, and many others. Anitta: Made in Honório, a Netflix documentary made about her early life debuted just a few weeks ago. She currently has over 50 million followers on Instagram, 12 million on Twitter, and over 16 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Incredibly impressive numbers.
