Happy St. Patrick’s Day! If you’re ready this today, why? Go out and have a few drinks. Party like you’re Irish. Anyways, if you’re still with me here let’s talk about this week’s throwback Thursday post. This week we’re talking about Alejandra Guzman.
Born in Feburary 1968 in Mexico City, Alejandra Guzman is one of the most successful female artists of all-time. Her nickname is “La Reina de Corazones”. She began her career in 1988 at the age of 20. Her parents were both well-noted artists in Mexico. Her father, Enrique Guzman, was one of the pioneers of Mexican rock. Growing up in the shadow of her famous parents was not an easy achievement. Her career was heavily influenced by her father’s rock roots. Over the course of her career, she has released 15 studio albums and a live album. She continues to release new music even to this day.
This week’s song is “Hacer El Amor Con Otro”. The title translates to “Make Love with Someone Else”. If the title is any indication, this song is about making love with someone else who isn’t the one you love. This is a song about sleeping with someone who you don’t love like the one before them. This about sex without the expressions of love and intimacy that you had in a past love. She even the scrapes of her lover’s beard and twisted smile. There’s no replacing what she once had. In a word, this about the regret of a rebound.
From 1991, “Hacer El Amor Con Otro”.
