Ladies and Gentlemen, it is New Music Friday once again and this week we have some heat.

Without further ado, let’s get after it.
Te Felicito – Shakira, Rauw Alejandro
Well, we might have an early contender for song of the summer. This is great. After an eh last album, this is good comeback for Rauw. For Shakira, queens stay queens. Great stuff. An early contender for best song of New Music Friday.
Soy Yo – Don Omar, Wisin, Gente de Zona
If this is any inidication, we are in for a loaded New Music Friday. I love this song. Gente de Zona kills it. Wisin is great. Don Omar almost sounds like he’s in his prime again. This is some peak stuff from everyone involved.
Provenza – Karol G
This is a very different sound for Karol G. A lot of her stuff is very mainstream reggaeton. This is the kind of song you listen to late at night, driving with the windows down. I like it a lot, but it’s very different for her.
No Mienten – Becky G
This is a little more in the dance/EDM space than Becky G generally operates. It’s different but good. I wouldn’t say it’s a groundbreaking hit but it’s good.
Voodoo – Badshah, J Balvin, Tainy
On one hand, I appreciate Balvin’s dedication to growing his brand globally and taking Latin music global. At the same time, this song is not very good. I’m a gigantic Balvin fan but this doesn’t do it for me.
Esa Parte de Mi – Los Angeles Azules, Sofia Reyes
Is Sofia Reyes just a cumbia artist now? I’m not complaining if she is. This is a fine song and it’s not really indicative of what she is capable of in the cumbia space. She has a lot more talent in the genre than this might indicate.
Se Nos Rompio El Amor – David Bisbal
I had to look up the backstory of this track because I was very confused by it. This single is a tribute that Bisbal is singing for his mother, who loves this song. That context is very important because I otherwise didn’t get why he released this track. All that being said, I like it enough but not enough to listen to it repeatedly.
Nasty – Lyanno
I’m a fan of this for sure. I didn’t expect to enjoy this as much as I did. Very good stuff.
Solo Para Ti – Alvaro Soler, Topic
One of the most common criticisms of Alvaro Soler is that all of his stuff sounds the same. That is a very fair complaint. This throws that back in people’s faces. It’s familiar enough that you know it’s him but it’s different enough that it feels fresh. Good stuff.
Nunca Me Enchulo – Ñejo, Luigi 21 Plus, Totoy El Frio
Unfortunately, this is pretty forgettable. To quote Jeremy Jahns – you won’t remember this in t-minus 1 minute.
Me Cogio La Noche – Gilberto Santa Rosa
Santa Rosa is a legend but this song is not a greatest hit for him. It sounds cheap if we’re being honest. I’m not a big fan.
Mirate Bien – Ryan Castro, Justin Quiles, Symon Dice
Justin Quiles always puts out fire. His verses in this song are the most memorable parts by far. This is worth the listen for him alone.
Bancario – KEVVO, Chucky 73
Chucky73’s batting average keeps going up. He’s putting out more and more quality tracks. Very glad to see it. This is a pretty solid track. If this was baseball, it would be a hard hit single.
Chilches – Jesse y Joy
I wasn’t expecting to like this song as much as I do. There’s a very infectious pop/funk sound to it that draws you in and keeps you engaged. I like the attitude of this track as well. Very surprisingly enjoyable song. Glad Jesse y Joy are back in a big way.
