After putting out 3 albums in 2020, Bad Bunny took 2021 off from releasing a new album. Well, the wait is over. We now have the 5th album from the international icon.
Un Verano Sin Ti is a massive album. Clocking in at over an hour and twenty minutes with 23 tracks (22 new), there’s a lot to listen to here. Credit to Bad Bunny, he likes to put out a LOT of content whenever he drops a new album. The only song that isn’t new is “Callaita” which is easily a greatest hit. I’m happy that it’s back in the zeitgeist.
The easiest way for me to describe this album is the eqquivalent of J Balvin’s Vibras. It’s a summer album through and through. This is an album for sunshine, warm weather, and booze.
There are a ton of songs to like on this album. My favorites are “Neverita”, “Ojitos Lindos”, “Enseñame a Bailar”, “Party”, “Andrea”, and “Dos Mil 16”. These are all certified bangers. These are the perfect tracks for the summer. For the first time since Vibras, there’s a dedicated album for the summer. I’m very excited to listen to this a million times over the next few months.
There are a coupe of songs that I didn’t really love. I don’t think any of them are bad but they just didn’t do anything for me. Those songs include “Titi Me Pregunto”, “Agosto”, and “Tarot”. On a general note, while a lot of the songs on the album are good, some of them are missing just a little something extra that could have taken this album to a new height.
Final Thoughts
Bad Bunny delivers an essential summer album. Is this his best album yet? No. Is this a very good outing that will be the soundtrack to man people’s summers? Absolutely.
7.9/10
