It’s Friday again and we have plenty of new music and some big hits out this Friday. Karol G, Anuel AA, and J Balvin team up for a track as well Nicky Jam and Romeo Santos for their own. We also have tracks from Alejandro Fernandez, Jay Wheeler, and newcomers like Juanfran!

Without further ado, let’s go.

Location – Karol G, Anuel AA, J Balvin

Not since Kane Brown and Becky G’s Spanglish remix of Lost In the Middle of Nowhere has there been a country/Spanish combination like this. Ever since that Kane Brown/Becky G track, I’ve always thought there was a lot of potential for country sounds in Latin music and vice versa. Looks like I was proven correct. This song combines three heavy hitters and a great country-esque sound to create something that has a ton of appeal. This song is already a contender for Song of the Summer and I would be shocked if this wasn’t a hit in both Spanish and English markets.

(For a little background info on Anuel, read our blog here).

Fan de Tus Fotos – Nicky Jam, Romeo Santos

This a classic track from Nicky Jam. It’s everything we’ve come to expect from him over the years. Romeo Santos features well on this basic reggaeton track. Santos has a pretty solid track record with appearing on reggaeton tracks like this. Even though he’s the King of Bachata, he’s has more than a fair share of reggaeton and urban hits. This song is a solid addition to his urban discography. I don’t know that this song will be anyone’s favorite Nicky Jam song but it’s definitely a solid addition to any playlist.

Como Llora (The Remix) – Juanfran, Nio Garcia, Brytiago, KEVVO

So hand up, I’ll admit it. I don’t know who Juanfran is. After this song, I think I’ll be hearing a lot more about him. From my quick research, it seems like he’s a 16 year old singer from the Canary Islands. He also seems to be a TikTok star with the orginal version of this song going viral.

In terms of the song, I’m a big fan. Adding Brytiago and Nio Garcia is rarely a bad idea with any song. Even with these two big artists on the track with him, Juanfran still leads the way. This song officially has him on my radar. I’m looking forward to hearing more from him in the (hopefully) near future.

Sidenote, when I think of the name Juanfran, I think of the soccer player who, as you can see, looks nothing like the singer.

Duele – Alejandro Fernandez, Christian Nodal

Mexican music isn’t really at the top of my list of favorite genres but I can appreciate a good song when I hear it. Alejandro is the son of the legendary Vicente Fernandez and has become a legend his own right. This song is a very good song for it’s genre. It’ll fit in perfectly with any Mexican playlist.

Amor de Febrero – Jay Wheeler

Well, I found a new addition to my Sad Hours playlist. What I love about this song is it really speaks to the range that Jay Wheeler has. This song sheds any reggaeton/urban roots and is a pure ballad. It’s a powerful track and it knows how to hit you right in the feelings. Maybe this is asking too much but I would love to hear this song live with an orchestra backing Wheeler. Great song.

Quedate Sola – Jon Z, Myke Towers, Eladio Carrion

Maybe I’m a little late to this conclusion but Myke Towers is going to be a superstar. Even though he’s techincally the second artist on this song, it’s his show. He is really on the verge of superstardom. His verse kills it on this track. Jon Z and Eladio Carrion both put in good efforts but this is Myke Towers’ song at the end of the day.

Mood – Rita Ora, Imabek, KHEA

KHEA is quickly establishing himself as an incredibly versatile artist. His new song last week Tu Msj </3 is a rock track and his song the week before was pure reggaeton. This week he’s back and showing us that he can rap like a man possessed. This song is a bit different for Rita Ora and I like her in it. Considering the amount of talent between these three artists, I guess I was expecting something a little different but its a good song nonetheless.

That’s all of the biggest new music from this week! Let me know if I missed anything or you have any tracks you want me to talk about! Until next time.
