It’s New Music Friday once again. This week brings a ton of new songs. Amongst the highlights are new songs from J Balvin, Ozuna, Jay Wheeler, Arcangel, Myke Towers, Mariah Angeliq, Luis Fonsi, and plenty of others.

No new albums this week but we have plenty of great singles to go over.

Let’s get it.

7 de Mayo – J Balvin

A stripped down, biographical song from Balvin here. This single, like the ones before it, definitely gives a very different feeling compared to his last album Colores. We’re in for a very difference experience. This song is very cool to me because it is so biographical. I really enjoy the interjection of the Daddy Yankee/J Balvin moment where Yankee presents him with an award for being a global icon. Can’t wait for this new album. Oh and happy birthday to J Balvin as well!

Si Te Veo – Arcangel, Jay Wheeler, Miky Woodz

This song probably takes the cake for my favorite new song of the week. I love the trio assembled here and the attitude they bring to the song. It’s super catchy and there’s such an intoxicating ego in the lyrics. This is going to be in my heavy rotation for some time to come.

Tiempo – Ozuna

Not a bad song from Ozuna. But it’s also not my favorite by any means. It’s a pretty typical track for the Puerto Rican singer, who has evidently been very busy this year beyond releasing Los Dioses with Anuel.

Como Antes – Rels B

Rels B has always been a hidden gem. He’s one of the best Latin R&B artists. He’s a king of combining chill vibes with clever wordplay and a reggaeton delivery. This is a great song to just sit and relax to. Great for vibing, if that’s still a phrase the kids use.

El Tren – Micro TDH, Myke Towers

Myke Towers always brings the heat. This is a very good song and a surefire way to get any playlist moving. Micro TDH is very underrated but I guarantee his moment is coming. This is probably the first step here. We’ll hear a lot more from him soon.

Mala de Verdad – Mariah Angeliq

We talked about Mariah in our post about the best new artists of 2021 so far which you can read here. Mariah really strengthens her case with this track. It’s a very good song that shows the attitude we know and love from her. I’ll be bumping this for a while.

La Puerta – Carlos Arroyo, Luis Fonsi

Fonsi gets a bit more back to his roots in this track here. This is a much more sentimental track than the casual fan may expect. It’s a very good and has a tint of bolero. I like it.

Reggaetonista Salsaton – KYEN?ES?, DJ Nelson

I love this. I love the original version and I love the salsaton twist. It’s late while I write this but I want to get up and start dancing. Fantastic production all around. Now I really have to write a piece about salsaton.
