Happy New Music Friday. I think we’re finally caught up on the backlog we were facing so this should be relatively on time. Sorry for the delay, work has been brutally busy for a few weeks now.

This week we have new songs from Yandel, Maluma, Justin Quiles, Prince Royce, Nicky Jam, CNCO, and many more!

Without further ado, let’s get to work.

AEIOU – Justin Quiles, Robin Schulz

This is a fantastic party song. An anthem for the summer only begins to describe how much I like this song. This is fucking awesome. Lets go.

Si Te Preguntan – Prince Royce, Nicky Jam, Jay Wheeler

This song is probably lesser than the sum of it’s parts. All of the artists involved are fantastic but the song itself doesn’t really do it for me. It’s fine enough but with the amount of talent involved it should be a #1 hit. Kind of a letdown to be honest.

Nunca y Pico – Yandel, Maluma, Eladio Carrion

This is a good new song for the summer. These are three of my favorite artists so I was kind of expecting something better than this but it’s a very good summer track nonetheless.

Pensar en Ti (Remix) – vf7, Christian Nodal

Very enjoyable. This isn’t a song you’re sitting your friends down to hear but it’s not something you’re skipping either.

No Apagues la Luz – CNCO

Hand up, I’ll be honest, I thought this was a cover of Enrique Iglesias’s song. I was wrong. Nevertheless, we persist. This is a solid song for the new form of CNCO. I liked this more than I thought I would.

Energia – Blessed, Rels B

One of the more interesting team ups of this New Music Friday, I was expecting some more inventive stuff out of this duo. What we got didn’t really move the needle one way or another. It’s fine enough but not something worth going back to. Kind of a missed opportunity if you ask me.

Te Amo y Punto – Chayanne

I’m actually a little surprised by this. I know Chayanne isn’t going to put out any pop songs like he would in the 80s but this is still pretty weak, even by today’s standards. Not really a fan of this track.

Kali – Brytiago

I’ll be honest, this song sucks.

Paz y Bendiciones – Jon Z, Myke Towers

I can get down with this for sure. This is a lot more of a dance focused track than the stuff Jon Z usually puts out. I like this a lot more than I was expecting to. It’s a pretty solid track overall. Good shit.

De Rumba – Casper Magico

I’ve been in this game for a minute. The title includes the word rumba and there’s a Dominican flag in the cover art. Let’s listen together and see if I’m right that this is going to be a fast paced track. So far, not yet (45 seconds in). Boom. I was right (50 seconds). I called it. Damn I’m fucking good at this. Overall, one of the better songs of New Music Friday. Solid stuff.

Lo Noto – Morad

Unfortunately, this isn’t anything special or even notable for that matter.

Ice On My Neck – Lalo Ebratt

Pure trash. I hate it.
