New Music Friday is here once again. Somehow we’re already at the end of September and into the fall. This week is LOADED with new songs to sink our teeth into.

This week we have new music from Don Omar, Karol G, Myke Towers, Wisin, Jhay Cortez, Alejandro Fernandez, and many more! We also have a new album from Natti Natasha to talk about.

If you haven’t read last week’s New Music Friday post, click here.

Without further ado, let’s get the weekend started.

Experimento – Myke Towers

I really like the retro drumbeat in this track. It reminds me of the retro vibe in Rauw Alejandro’s “Todo de Ti”. It adds a fresh new twist to Towers’ usual style. This is a fun song with a lot of crossover ability. I immediately added it to my playlists for all situations.

Flow HP – Don Omar, Residente

Well Don Omar is back. We haven’t heard much from him (other than picking fights on social media) in some time now. His new track isn’t a radio friendly hit. It’s a pointed track that doesn’t hold much back. I’m not surprised by the aggressive tone that he and Residente take, but it did catch me a bit off guard. I guess this is what we can expect from Don Omar from now on.

SEJODIOTO – Karol G

Karol G really hasn’t slowed down this year. Her album was one of the best of the year and she’s only continued to release heat since then. This isn’t one of her best songs ever but it’s a very infectious and enjoyable track.

Pepas (Remix) – Farruko, David Guetta

So I know EDM songs have a ton of remixes all the time but this is an example of a one that shouldn’t exist. Doesn’t really do anything for me. The original is better.

Emojis de Corazones – Wisin, Jhay Cortez, Ozuna, Los Legendarios

I think we have to talk about three separate things with this track. 1) Jhay Cortez continues to kill it. As the kids say, he’s on a heater. 2) Wisin is a legend. This is a classic performance from him. It’s exactly what you would expect at this point. 3) Ozuna is down, but not out. This is something of a bounce back performance from him. He has a long way to go before I feel comfortable saying he’s back in the upper echelon of Latin music though. Overall, very good song.

Cuantas Veces – Carlos Rivera, Reik

This is pretty standard ballad fare from Reik. Reik has two modes; urban and sentimental. This falls squarely in their sentimental category. Honestly, if you told me this song came out 15 years ago, I would believe you. It’s nothing super unique or special.

Fanatico (Remix) – Maxiolly, Lenny Tavarez, Rels B, De La Ghetto, Feid

This is a pretty loaded lineup for a song by an artist I had never heard of. While the beat is a pretty standard reggaeton sound, the huge lineup really makes this a track worth your time. I really enjoyed this a lot more than I expected to. Good stuff.

Paparazzi – Alex Rose, Brray, Juhn

There was a while where I thought all 3 of these artists were going to be the next big thing. Unfortunately, I was a bit off with that prediction. All of these artists have become very good B/C list artists though. This track is a pretty enjoyable track overall.

B!TCH#S – Blueface, Eladio Carrion, Jon Z

This song isn’t really my style if we’re being honest. That being said, I can weirdly see it being pretty popular at college parties, at least among the right crowd. This has Latino house party vibes all over it. These crossovers are exactly what I was talking about in my Hispanic Heritage Month post, by the way.

Tal Vez – Antonio Jose, Alejandro Fernandez

New Music Friday is a great place to find out that Alejandro Fernandez still has it, even at the age of 50. This is a good ballad-esque song to enjoy with a glass of wine or something like that. I don’t know much about Antonio Jose but he has a bright career ahead of him based on this song.
