Every once in a while, I think it’s important to update you on the state of our affairs here at Pa La Cultura. To be transparent, I think it’s important that we’re all on the same page here. 5 months since launch, I feel like we’ve come a long way. But we also have a long way to go.
How We Got Here
When I started this site 5 months ago, I didn’t really know where this would take me. I didn’t really plan the weekly posts or anything like that. I just wanted a space where we could take about music. This site has certainly become that space.
Our readership has grown month over month. From our launch in January to May, our monthly readership increased 184% with readers in over 60 countries. We have also grown our presence on social media on all platforms but especially Twitter. Our posting on Instagram has kind of fallen through the cracks but that’s something we will correct.
We’ve launched weekly series on Luis Miguel The Series, Throwback Thursday, and New Music Friday. We have also reviewed nearly every major release of the year. If there’s anything we’ve missed please let us know.
Where We Go From Here
We’re going to keep providing great content. Expect our weekly Throwback Thursday posts every week as well as our New Music Friday roundup.
We plan to offer new content types soon. We’re going to start talking about different topics and take different approaches to things. I am also hoping to start hosting guest bloggers on the site from time to time. If you think you have what it takes, email me a writing sample at palacutlurablog@gmail.com.
We plan on launching a weekly newsletter to keep everyone up to date on all of our posts and articles. We don’t want you to miss a thing.
The most important plan that we have for our future is that we plan and hope to launch our own line of Latin music themed merch in the coming months. Our goal is that you will be able to wear Pa La Cultura branded t-shirts, hoodies, and hats before the end of 2021.
We’re in a position where we can grow in every direction. That’s a very exciting position to be in. You can help us by sending posts you like to your friends, tweeting them out, or posting them anywhere on social media. A retweet can take us a long way.
On a Personal Note
In many ways, this site has been therapeutic for me. It’s been an escape from the trials of day to day life. It’s a place to share stories and talk about music, something that I’m passionate about. I hope that the small community we’ve built will continue to grow. As I said in our first post, this is all about the culture.
From all of us here at Pa La Cultura, thank you for your readership and involvement over the last few months. I’m excited for what we have in store. In the meantime, keep it here and keep spreading the word.
