For our first Throwback Thursday we’re traveling back in time to 1988 Spain. Duo Dinamico, comprised of Manuel de la Calva and Ramón Arcusa, have been together and been making music since the late 50s. Today’s song is probably their most well-known titled Resitiré which translates to “I will resist”. Released in 1988, the song served as the theme song for the 1990 film Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! starring Antonio Banderas and Victoria Abril. Last year, the song made a major comeback in Spain as a rally cry during the COVID-19 Pandemic. People in Spain would sing the song together from their balconies to keep their spirits up while they were locked down. The song was remade for the occasion with a number of Spanish artists contributing.

Light spoiler warning even though this movie is 30 years old
